She has also been writing both speculative fiction and romance for decades and firmly believes one person can make a difference.

  • Book Review—The Left-Handed Booksellers of London by Garth Nix: Matthew Cushing reviews the first installment in Nix’s latest urban fantasy series.

  • Speculative Fiction Becomes Science Fact: Several stories where humanity is pushing the boundaries of science fact well into the realm of what was previously science fiction.

What is “speculative fiction,” or spec fic for the shorthand. It’s a genre of writing in which the setting is other than the real world, involving supernatural, futuristic, or other imagined elements. It changes the laws of what’s real or possible as we know them in our current society, and then speculates on the outcome.
