Top Ten Sci-Fi/Fantasy Books

Writer: M.C.M.C.

Updated: Sep 12, 2020

Though I have read innumerable science fiction and fantasy books that I have thoroughly enjoyed, I have only recently started reviewing books in depth. I have developed a 100-point rating system that considers the book’s plot, its uniqueness, character development, the author’s storytelling ability, and overall engagement of the reader. As more books are reviewed, this list may change. Here are my current top ten best science fiction and fantasy books.

1. Wizard and Glass, Stephen King, score: 95

2. Jonathan Strange & Mr. Norrell, Susannah Clarke, score: 94

3. The Fireman, Joe Hill, score: 92

4. 11/22/63, Stephen King, score: 90

5. Ready Player One, Ernest Cline, score: 88

6. Outlander, Diana Gabaldon, score: 86

7. All Our Wrong Todays, Elan Mastai, score: 84

8. Neuromancer, William Gibson, score: 83

9. Reamde, Neal Stephenson, score: 82

10. A Closed and Common Orbit, Becky Chambers, score: 82
